The Agnes Irwin School, an all-girls' Pre-K through 12th grade independent school in the Philadelphia suburbs, is committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of girls and young women. Currently, The Agnes Irwin School is seeking a full-time Upper School Librarian for the 2025-2026 academic year. The full time (10-month) Upper School Librarian will teach information literacy skills and promote a culture of reading, inquiry, and research. They will collaborate with Upper School faculty to create research projects, ensuring that students have a solid understanding of ethical use of information and AI. In addition, the Upper School Librarian supports the senior assembly program, a signature of the Upper School experience.

Position Responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming, accessible, inclusive, and age-appropriate library for Upper School students.
- Collaborate with Upper School Faculty do develop research and inquiry projects that develop student skills in finding, evaluating, and synthesizing information from a variety of resources.
- Teach 9th grade Media Literacy course, and guide 12th grade students through senior assembly process, from topic development to research and writing.
- Manage Upper School Library resources: print and digital collection development, circulation, weeding, shelving and stack maintenance.
- Participate in the life of the school, attending assemblies, serving as an advisor, coach and/or club sponsor.
- Engage in professional learning and reflective faculty evaluation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Necessary:
- Master’s in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
- Experience working with High School students.
- Proficiency with technology: online library catalog and databases, LibGuides, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills; outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and respect different values and viewpoints.
