This is an advanced position requiring an area of expertise in a field related to libraries. Professional Library Assistants deliver customer service, reader’s advisory, technical services, digital design, reference assistant, technology support and or instruction, market library services, instruct public on technology usage, will assist and deliver life and specific knowledge improvement classes, will deliver passport services and provide support for library events and engagement with other departments and the community. Staff in the delivery of customer services, passport services, technology assistance, and life improvement classes. Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist under desks and around furniture; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight up to 25 lbs.; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
