JOB OVERVIEW

The library assistant oversees inmates and manages books in the main library and the multiple satellite library facilities. This position:

• Compiles and maintains records for circulation, materials, and equipment.
• Enters and updates patrons' records on computers. 
• Helps patrons find and use library resources and provides technical assistance when needed. 
• Reserves, circulates, renews, and discharges books and other material.
• Processes interlibrary loans for patrons.
• Catalogs and sorts books in both print and non-print materials according to procedure.
• Conducts reference searched, using printed materials and in-house and online databases.
