Do you have a passion for working with library systems and developing content focused on enhancing information literacy and research skills? We are looking for library staff to contribute to a team dedicated to building and managing innovative and timely library content, tools, and services for a diverse population of students.
This is an in-person position on the Phoenix campus with potential for work from home one day a week. Monday-Friday scheduled hours will be determined upon hire and will be consistent each week.
What you will do:
Performs routine descriptive cataloging and coding of library materials in all formats.
Assists with maintenance of records in the integrated library system (ILS), including copy cataloging and classification.
Processes materials for shelving, including jacketing and labeling.
Inventories processing supplies, assesses current needs and identifies items to order as appropriate.
Promotes library resources and services to the University community.
Maintains awareness of technology and tools used in academic research.
Maintains familiarity with scholarly communications for teaching, learning, and research.
Works collaboratively in a team environment to share best practices.
Provides a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
Other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Minimum one-year related library experience or training preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written communications skills
Metadata and cataloging experience preferred.
Must pass pre-employment background investigation.
