POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Services and Systems Librarian serves as the coordinator for ordering, organizing, cataloging, and maintaining the library’s print and non-print collections in order to maximize patrons’ access to academic information. The Technical Services and Systems Librarian is the administrator for the library’s Integrated Library System (ILS) software and the lead librarian in interfacing with the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) and the Information Technology department concerning operation of the library technology systems. The Technical Services and Systems Librarian assumes responsibility for supervising and implementing activities of the library’s Technical Services area, provides Interlibrary Loan service to students, faculty, and staff, helps with assisting patrons with public services activities and maintains the library’s website.

Founded in 1875, Huston-Tillotson University is Austin's first institution of higher education. The University is an independent, liberal arts, church-related, historically black institution located on a 23-acre tree-lined campus near downtown Austin, Texas. The University is affiliated with United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, and the United Negro College Fund. Undergraduate, four-year degrees in business, education, the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences are awarded.
