Minimum Qualifications
ALA -accredited MLS or equivalent by time of appointment Understanding of emerging issues, trends, and standards in librarianship Strong commitment to providing user-centered, assets-based instructional and reference services to diverse students in an academic library setting Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated interest in furthering CSUMB ’s academic goals, as identified in the University Vision Statement Demonstrated success in collaborative library or educational settings Ability to work effectively with diverse campus constituencies

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with academic programs and/or faculty at an institution of higher education Experience providing information literacy instruction in a classroom or group training setting, with an understanding of instructional design principles Library collection development experience Excellent analytical, pro-active problem solving ability Project management skills Demonstrated ability and interest in implementing new technologies in an academic library Active involvement in professional development activities with a record of scholarly contributions and achievements in the profession Proficiency in one or more non-English languages Ability to respond effectively to changing needs and priorities Additional graduate degree in a relevant discipline
