Job Description:

The Pence Law Library at the American University Washington College of Law invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor/Law Librarian beginning August 1, 2025. This is an entry level or lateral position. The successful candidate will be part of the law librarian tenure track faculty.

Applicants should have a J.D and an M.L.S.  (or equivalents) from accredited institutions completed within six months of date of hire. An applicant with a JD may be considered provided that they commit to obtaining an M.L.S. degree (or equivalent) within 4 years of their initial appointment.

The Scholarly Communications/Reference Librarian will provide faculty outreach and education on topics related to faculty scholarship in addition to general reference duties, such as working at an active reference desk, responding to faculty research requests, teaching, and preparing library resources.
