The Department of Education is on the lookout for a Librarian Technician to support the care, access, and discovery of rare collections within the Bureau of State Library. As a Rare Collections Librarian Technician, you will have the opportunity to bring your passion of rare collections to life while assisting the Librarian with intellectual control of collections by compiling inventories, identifying cataloging discrepancies and deficiencies, as well as making corrections. Work involves providing in-person and remote access reference services, assisting with the preparation of library exhibits and creation of social media content featuring rare collections, as well as preparing materials on-demand for patrons. You will also be responsible for preservation activities including monitoring climate control, creating preservation housings, and assisting with disaster preparedness and response.
