Job Responsibilities


Job Purpose
Under general supervision at the Beaufort campus, provides reference and circulation services to patrons, creates online information literacy instructional resources, and aids the Dean of Learning Support and Assistant Librarian in working with faculty to develop and maintain an adequate collection of physical and electronic resources to support TCL's programs.

  1. Essential Duties
    Respond to reference questions using a wide array of reference and information resources, knowledge and expertise. Provide circulation services to patrons.
  2. Create and maintain online library resources (tutorials, LibGuides, forms).
  3. Serve as contact for Interlibrary Loan and PASCAL Delivers.
  4. Assist in maintaining a collection of appropriate print and electronic resources to support the academic schools and other college areas. Process new materials and participate in evaluating and updating collection.
  5. Assist in compilation of library statistical data to complete and submit internal, local, state, and national level reports.
  6. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum and Additional Requirements


A Master's degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university.


Preferred Qualifications


Knowledge of professional practices in the library field, particularly with regard to reference, information literacy, and collection development. Strong communication skills. Experience with library technology such as Springshare's suite of products and Ex Libris's Alma and Primo VE is preferred.
