Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Part-Time Librarian 
Under direct supervision of the Head Librarian, performs tasks to support the work of librarians and information specialists, library programs and operations. Provides technical support and direct services to the public. Maintains a collection of books, journals, periodicals, electronic resources and documents and directs staff in classification of materials. 
  • Handles check-ins, check-outs, fines, overdue notices and places holds in library operating system and Datatel system according to consortium and college policies. 
  • Utilizes serials module in library operating system. Maintains control records, processing, shelving, and purging. Updates and maintains master hardcopy and electronic listing of subscription and non-subscription serials and posts to library portals.
  • Receives and verifies PASCAL intrastate interlibrary loans. Fulfills on-and off-campus requests. 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and relevant library experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for work experience. Must have a valid driver's license.
