As a Supplemental Medical Librarian, hours are not guaranteed and will depend on departmental needs.
The Medical Librarian provides expert information services to library clientele using on-line, print and other sources of information. Responsible for the provision of reference services communicating with users through traditional face to face and various web based technologies. Trains physicians, residents, or Legacy personnel to identify, access and use Library resources in all formats. Promotes the advancement of patient care through effective use of knowledge-based information. Selects, acquires, organizes, and weeds the library print collection. Oversees the cataloging and technical processing of Library materials.
Education:
Master’s degree in library/information science.
Experience:
Minimum two years special, academic, or health science Library experience. Demonstrated competency in on-line searching of major electronic services and the Internet. Demonstrated knowledge of medical reference resources, both print and online.
Experience in teaching knowledge-based information to adult learners.

Understanding of mobile computing devices such as smart phones and/or tables with an interest in ongoing discovery of new and emerging technology.
Understanding of principles of evidence-based medicine including ability to teach concepts and apply to clinical queries.
Working knowledge of basic office equipment and audiovisual equipment.
