DescriptionThe Library Assistant reports to the Head Librarian and is responsible for providing general supervision and circulation desk services for a popular and widely used spot on campus. We are seeking someone who is:

This is a temporary position from August 6 - November 25. Current workday is 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a welcoming environment while providing general student support and supervision from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Maintain rosters, take attendance and monitor study halls and homeroom/office assistants.
- Provide circulation desk services, including checking materials in and out, managing overdues, assisting students and educators with finding print and electronic materials, and maintaining records in Follett Destiny Library Manager
- Perform collection maintenance, including shelving library materials and tidying library shelves
- Manage the physical space and perform closing tasks as required
- Attend school in-service and retreat days
QualificationsEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate with some college preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with teenagers, young adults, or children
- Familiarity with online library catalogs a plus
SKILLS
- Proficient with Apple technology, Google Suite, library management software such as Follett Destiny
- Working knowledge of Dewey Decimal Classification system
