Description

Summary: Under administrative direction provides leadership and direction for library staff at a medium-sized library; the Library Manager I plans, organizes, and manages all operations of the library including supervising staff. Assists users in the use of materials, equipment, and/or services provided by the library.

This position will be assigned to the East Edmond Library, which is currently under construction at a site east of I-35 and 15th Street in Edmond, OK.  The selected candidate will be assigned to other locations throughout the system until construction of the East Edmond location is complete.

This position currently requires availability to work all hours the library is open, including days, evenings, and weekends.  The current need requires specific availability to work at least one closing shift per week as well as a rotating Friday/Saturday and Sunday shift.*

*Hours are subject to change in accordance with the needs of the library.

The hiring salary for this position is $65,416.00 annually.  Exact compensation negotiable based on skills and experience. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.  This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and,
  • Two or more years of personnel management experience with evidence of progressive responsibility and interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving and decision-making.


HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • ALA accredited Master's degree in Library and Information Science
  • Modern professional library principles, practices, and procedures
  • High level of comfort with computing, online databases, office productivity software, and emergent technologies.
  • Experience building sustainable community relationships.
  • Experience in human services and/or working with at-risk populations.
