Library Director
Status: Three-Quarter time (~30 hours/week); Exempt
Reports to: Director of Academic Operations
Supervises: On-Campus Student Employees and Graduate Fellows
Longy’s Library Director position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role for the library and library services, supporting a diverse and rapidly growing student body at a school reimagining conservatory education. It will require creativity and imagination in collaboration with our senior leadership. The services and support offered to our community include multi-use educational and artistic space, in-person and online programming, tutoring, and access to technology. The Library also serves a key role in Longy’s diversity in repertoire initiative, helping faculty and students find, study, and perform music from People of Color, LGBTQIA+, women, and living composers.
The Library Director oversees all functions of the Bakalar Library and library services at Longy. This person supports Longy's mission to prepare musicians to make a difference in the world through programming, curation of new collections, and support for Longy's in-person and online degrees. This position offers the right candidate an opportunity to modernize Longy’s library and be an active educator who impacts our students’ academic and artistic experience.

Compensation
