Applications are now being accepted for the position of Library Director. This executive leadership position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the library, aligning services with the needs of our community, and ensuring the effective implementation of policies established by the Library Board of Trustees.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan reflecting the library’s mission, vision, and values
- Oversee all HR functions, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and team development
- Manage library operations including budgeting, resource allocation, and facilities maintenance
- Cultivate external relationships with city leadership, community organizations, and regional/state library partners
- Lead public relations and marketing efforts to increase community engagement
- Provide oversight of collection development and digital services
- Guide technology planning and infrastructure improvements
- Represent the Library on the City’s management team and in professional organizations

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in leadership, supervision, and administration, preferably in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of library management, budgeting, staffing, collection management, and technology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Experience in policy development and strategic planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media
- Valid driver’s license required
Compensation and Benefits
- The assigned salary range of the Library Director is $89,208-$132,430
- This is a full time, FLSA Exempt, benefitted position.
