Essential Duties Include:
Provides reference services, reader's advisory, and computer assistance to library customers.
Instructs users on utilizing the library catalog and databases.
Assists with programming and events for library customers.
Supports circulation desk duties as needed.
Participates in collection maintenance by weeding designated areas and identifying materials for review or replacement.
Develops and maintains library display areas and posts community notices.
Supports the inter-library loan process as needed.
Creates and maintains library user accounts as needed.
Supervises library volunteers as required.
Manages customer relations and resolves escalated issues via in-person interactions, phone, and email as required.
Performs routine data entry, including entering customer information into the library database.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
One to three years of working in a library setting or experience which provides the required KSAs.
Knowledge of library services provided to the public.
Proven ability in oral and written communication.
Proficiency in English and a second language is preferred.
Demonstrated skill in dealing tactfully and efficiently with a diverse public and staff.
Ability to develop proficient skills in a specialized area with moderate training.
Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, electronic databases, e-mail, internet navigation, and office equipment.
