Library Associate - Outreach Lead

Do you communicate clearly, stay calm in difficult situations, and know when to step in—or step up?

Daniel Boone Regional Library is looking for an Outreach Lead who can build strong relationships, support teammates, and help deliver library services to homebound patrons.

This is a great role for someone who is confident handling real-world situations, exercises good judgment, and naturally supports and guides others—while working in alignment with manager direction.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the main contact for homebound patrons, providing responsive and courteous service

  • Coordinate delivery routes and ensure materials are ready and delivered on time

  • Respond to calls and emails, including last-minute requests and concerns

  • Handle sensitive or challenging conversations with professionalism and care

  • Build strong relationships with patrons, coworkers, and community partners

  • Support and guide Outreach staff in day-to-day work, helping keep services organized and consistent

  • Solve problems independently and know when to escalate issues to a manager

  • Balance competing priorities and focus on core service needs

  • Select and deliver materials tailored to patron interests

  • Assist with programs, Bookmobile services, and other outreach projects

You listen well, speak clearly, and can explain things in a way others understand. You’re comfortable addressing concerns and navigating difficult conversations.
