The History & Genealogy department is seeking a part-time Library Associate to provide support to the reference desk personnel by performing various clerical tasks to assist in the delivery of public service.

Salary: $18.35 an hour
Hours:
Wednesday: 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Thursday: 11:45 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
One Sunday per month
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Processes, sorts, and shelves Library material in proper sequence so that materials are available for customers and staff use.
2. Electronically processes materials to link items to bibliographic record so that material is available for customer and staff use.
3. Checks materials for compliance with the standards for circulation so that the materials are in good condition for customer use.
4. Enters ordering information into the order module of the bibliographic record.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
Ability to bend very low shelves or reach to very high shelves when retrieving library materials
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Ability to push a full cart of books or other Library materials
Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to operate various types of Library equipment
Ability to use a pc, word processing, and e-mail
