This is a grade 6, bargaining unit position with a pay range beginning at $17.00/hour. Scheduling will include 3 afternoon/evening shifts per week (3:00-8:00pm). This position reports to HUB Branch Manager. Title: Library Associate

Immediate Supervisor: Department Manager or Branch Manager
Basic Function:
Performs paraprofessional library tasks in the public library system. Library Associates work with the public, a job that is customer service driven and requires a friendly, helpful, and tactful demeanor. Position may be full or part time and is determined by the needs of the library.
Distinguishing Features of the Class:
This classification requires the application of basic principles of library and information science. Employees assigned to this class perform some of the duties that are done by Librarians. The distinguishing feature of this class is that the duties include direct public service reference and information responsibility, and planning and presenting programs to the appropriate age group of the department or branch in which they serve. Employees assigned to this class are required to provide service in accordance with the Library’s mission, core values, and strategic plan.
