THIS RECRUITMENT WILL GENERATE A 6-MONTH ELIGIBLE LIST TO FILL CURRENT AND FUTURE VACANCIES FOR THE PART-TIME LIBRARY ASSISTANT I AT ALL LOCATIONS WITHIN MCPL.
Successful Candidates:
The successful part-time Library Assistant I candidate for this position will need to be passionate about providing courteous customer service at the circulation desk and throughout the library, be highly enthusiastic about being part of the team and assisting with shelving and processing of library materials. The candidate will need to be comfortable with technology and provide basic computer assistance.

Hours for this position:
Library hours of operation are 7 days a week including evenings, days, and weekends. Employees are expected to be available for work during these times. Individual schedules, including evenings and weekends, will vary based on branch operational needs.
Education: Completion of High School
Experience: One (1) year of library assistance work comparable to that of Library Desk Assistant.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
The applications of those individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed to determine the extent, relevancy of training, and experience in the following areas:
Experience providing direct customer service in a busy setting.
Experience using an integrated library system.
Experience using a computer in a work environment.
Experience learning quickly and adapting to changes and completing formal and informal training necessary to support change.
Experience working as part of a workplace team and working cooperatively with others while maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
