    Falmouth Middle School is seeking a Library Assistant. The Falmouth Middle School Library serves approximately 450 students in grades 6, 7, and 8 and is the technology center for the school. The library assistant will supervise students and oversee the library while the school librarian/tech integrator is teaching library classes and providing tech integration support in classrooms. Ideal candidates should have experience working with middle school students, an interest in middle grade & young adult literature, experience using technology, and the willingness to learn the online library system. Candidates should be organized, flexible, take direction, and have a sense of humor and a positive attitude.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

     
    • Assists students and staff with locating books and resources in the library 

    • Uses the library circulation system to check out materials to students and staff 

    • Checks in and shelves library books and material

    • Supervises students working in the library during school hours

    • Helps staff and students with the library copier and printer needs

    • Assists with creating book displays and supports school-wide reading initiatives 

    • Assists with processing new books and conducting library inventory

    • Creates help tickets for students and staff who need tech support

    Qualifications / Certifications / Experience: 

     
    • Education Technician III Certification and CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education 
    • ?Approved background check (run by the district)
    • ?Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
     


    Additional:

    Pay will be based on relevant experience and DOE certification.  Ed Tech III pay rate range is $24.54 - $30.85/hr.  Hours: 35 hours per week (7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Mon-Fri during the school year) A generous benefits package includes the following:
