Falmouth Middle School is seeking a Library Assistant. The Falmouth Middle School Library serves approximately 450 students in grades 6, 7, and 8 and is the technology center for the school. The library assistant will supervise students and oversee the library while the school librarian/tech integrator is teaching library classes and providing tech integration support in classrooms. Ideal candidates should have experience working with middle school students, an interest in middle grade & young adult literature, experience using technology, and the willingness to learn the online library system. Candidates should be organized, flexible, take direction, and have a sense of humor and a positive attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists students and staff with locating books and resources in the library
Uses the library circulation system to check out materials to students and staff
Checks in and shelves library books and material
Supervises students working in the library during school hours
Helps staff and students with the library copier and printer needs
Assists with creating book displays and supports school-wide reading initiatives
Assists with processing new books and conducting library inventory
Creates help tickets for students and staff who need tech support
