Library Assistant
The position of a Library Assistant is available immediately at East Central ISD for the 2025-2026 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist librarian in the administration of the campus library. Perform routine duties under the direct supervision of the librarian.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certificate:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have one of the following:
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Ability to shelve books following district cataloging system
Ability to work well with children
Effective, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Perform duties with minimum supervision
Ability to learn and use computerized systems
Ability to adapt to changes
EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard library equipment including imaging equipment; standard instructional equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with continuous interruptions. Regular sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; regular overhead reaching and climbing ladders. Frequent light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds); occasional moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds). Work inside; work alone; exposure to biological and chemical hazards such as mold and dust. Normal office environment.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 days-basis
