GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Assist in the management and organization of the school's collection of print and digital resources. Support the Librarian in daily operations and activities that align with the school's educational goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in library or office support preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Assist with the procurement of resources aligned with curriculum needs, student interests, and academic levels.
- Help manage the distribution and organization of media and audio-visual equipment.
- Support the Librarian in cultivating a welcoming media center atmosphere.
- Assist students and teachers in locating and utilizing resources.
- Aid in the organization and shelving of library materials.
- Help maintain the neatness and order of the media center.
- Support the Librarian in providing instruction on media and resource skills.
- Assist with media center activities.
- Help inform staff and students about the media collection.
- Support the Librarian in ensuring instructional resources and equipment are utilized.
- Assist with basic technology and computer issues.
- Fulfill additional assigned tasks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of basic library procedures and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents and community members.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Pass the formal state assessment (ParaPro Assessment).
- References - Applicants must submit two (2) written references; references should be from a current or previous supervisor. References from a supervising teacher or professor are acceptable when there is no relevant prior work history.
