Job Description Summary
This position will serve as part-time reference and instruction Librarian and provide resources and assistance to promote student success. The part-time Librarian will teach a variety of information literacy courses, including Library orientation, research skills and citing sources. The Librarian will also work as the reference Librarian during days/evenings answering a variety of questions. This person must have a strong commitment to service and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties
Deliver online and in-person reference assistance; Deliver online and in-person library instruction at all campus locations; Work as a liaison between the Library and designated academic programs; Assist with collection development, including de-selection/weeding; Create digital learning objects that promote library services and resources; Provide general assistance with all areas of Library operation as needed.
Minimum Requirements
(1)Master of Library Science ( MLS ) or Master of Library and Information Science ( MLIS ) degree from an A.L.A Accredited Library Science program. (2) Knowledge of print and electronic research resources in a variety of subject areas.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) Experience providing reference services in an academic library setting. (2) Experience teaching the effective use of online and print research resources in information literacy classes. (3) Knowledge of trends and best practices in academic libraries.
