RSU #24 is seeking a part time library ed. tech at Cave Hill School. Key areas of strength would be a love of reading, knowledge of current books to share with PK - 5 students, and an ability to instill a love of reading in our elementary students. The successful candidate would also have the following expectations:
- Assisting students in locating reference and other instructional materials, and in developing knowledge, skill and abilities to gain independence and fully utilize the library materials and resources.
- Assisting in reinforcement of reading in core content areas.
- Working with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.
- Arranging book displays, exhibits and other items to provide an appropriate learning resource environment and maximize students' interest in reading and learning.
- Assisting with the selection of library materials and resources, and in weeding out old outdated materials and books.
- Keeping library neat and books catalogued.
- Organizing yearly book fairs for families.
The successful candidate will hold or be eligible for an Educational Technician Certification with the MDOE. Must hold a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check. Pay is based upon experience and level of education.
