Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This person should have an informed vision of development and sustainability of a high-quality medical school/health professional library. This person shall oversee all on-line and in-person library services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and administer the OCOM library.
  • Support research initiatives of medical students, faculty, and staff, including researchers.
  • Educate the OCOM community on the library and library services.
  • Operate within the budget to deliver high-quality and utilized library resources to the OCOM community.
  • Foster a culture of research and scholarship and promote the value of scholarly communications.
  • Identify strategies to acquire and support emerging research technologies
  • Support staff serving as investigators on external grants
  • Actively communicate the value libraries adds to the mission of the University
  • Develop and implement initiatives and processes that promote individual and collaborative research, scholarship and creative activity

Requirements

QUALIFICATION(S):

  • A team player who values radical cooperation, mutual support and team cohesion
  • Experience in administration of integrated library systems and discovery layers (preferably Alma and Primo), electronic resource management, web design, systems integration, and remote authentication is preferred.
  • Masters in Library Science or equivalent degree
