The Librarian creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. To provide professional library assistance to public school students and staff in full utilization of services, materials and resources. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students and staff, the Librarian must work closely with other staff, the administration, and other programs of Dodge City Public Schools.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. A master’s degree in library science (MLS) is preferred (will accept MLS in progress if eligible for a waiver) · Current Kansas Teaching Certificate or license on file in the Central Office with MLS endorsement or Waiver). · Kansas Certification of Health Certificate on file in the Central Office (after employment offer is made). · Desire to continue career improvement. · A team player with experience working in a collaborative environment · Ability to listen to and communicate with parents and see parents as a resources · Professional dress, manner and appearance · Is patient and caring
