Librarian - Capitol Hill

Under general direction, performs a variety of professional librarian duties including providing information and assistance to customers of all ages; planning, scheduling, and presenting programs and/or services; performing reference, readers’ advisory services and bibliographic instruction; building relationships with community organizations; providing technology instruction; engaging in civic participation. This position will be assigned to the Capitol Hill Library, which is located at 327 SW 27th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73109.

The hiring salary for this position is $51,001.60 annually.  This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.  This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  The selected candidate should be available to work a normal schedule which includes regular weekday, evening, and weekday hours. Must be available all hours the library is open. *

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited college or university in Library and Information Science.

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Enthusiasm for public service and the ability to work well with a diverse audience.
• Knowledge of current trends in library services.
• Experience building community partnerships.
• Experience working with makerspace technologies.
