    Summary: 
    St. Anthony School is seeking an experienced, organized, and mission-focused School Librarian for a part-time position for the 2025-26 school year. The successful candidate will foster a welcoming and safe environment in the library where each child feels valued, respected, and supported as they explore new books and potential areas of growth.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    1.    Acquiring and organizing the books and other materials appropriate to meet the learning needs of students at St. Anthony. 
    2.    Teaching Library classes to students in grades K - 5th grade, including introducing new books and providing opportunities for students to check out books to take home and read.  
    3.    Ensuring a high standard of books and other display material to enhance the welcoming and purposeful Library environment.  
    4.    Maintaining a high level of current awareness regarding children’s literature and developments in education and librarian sciences.
    5.    Support the educational aims and objectives of the school, including promoting the development of reading and literacy skills and monitor the effectiveness of the Library’s contribution to the learning and teaching at school.
    6.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    1.     The ability to interact positively and patiently with children and effectively teach library skills, with a knowledge and love of literature for children.
    2.     The ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information.
    3.     Successful completion of a background check.
    4.     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.

    Physical Demands:
    The position requires the ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 pounds and to stand for extended periods of time.
    Benefits / Hours: 


    This role is a non-benefited, part-time position of approximately 10 hours / week. The hourly rate is $23.00/hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
