    Education and experiences: 
    • Valid teacher's license with appropriate endorsement; 
    • Sufficient experience in library management; and
    • Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills. 
    • Meets health and physical requirements.
    Summary:                                                   
     
    To develop and implement procedures for identification, evaluation, acquisition, production, and organization of the school’s library resources, and to instruct, motivate, and assist students and staff in the use of those resources.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
    • Furnishes information on library activities, facilities, rules, and services;
    • Explains and assists in use of references sources, such as the card or book catalog, periodical indexes and computerizes search systems to locate information;
    • Describes or demonstrates procedures for searching catalog files and computerized search systems;
    • Searches catalog files and shelves to locate information;
    • Issues and receives materials for circulation or for use in the library;
    • Assembles and arranges displays of books and other library materials;
    • Maintains references and circulation materials;
    • Answers correspondence on special reference subjects;
    • Selects, orders, catalogs, and classifies materials;
    • Plans library assignments with teachers and students;
    • Promote good library conduct;
    • Helps students develop skills in using the library;
    • Plans and directs or carries out special projects involving library promotion and outreach activity; and
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Physical Demands:

    This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., or the weight of an average child, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

    • Form perception: To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures. 
    • Color Discrimination: Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors or shades or other values of the same color.
