Responsible for supervising and maintaining the Reference Desk during the evening and weekends, include providing reference and circulation assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Staff the circulation and reference desk; provide high-quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Provide technology support, including device troubleshooting, connecting to printers, and navigating library software, desktops, and systems.
- Assist with maintenance of the collection, including processing new books.
- Assist with interlibrary loan processing.
- Open and close the library as scheduled, including evenings and weekends.
- Create and maintain displays.
- Conduct library tours and assist with admissions events.
- Reshelve and shelf-read library materials to ensure access and accuracy.
- Create and maintain LibGuides and other digital content supporting collection discovery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to use and assist others with library technologies, databases, and the online catalog (OPAC/ILS)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to supporting a diverse learning community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- MLS/MLIS or enrolled in an ALA accredited graduate library program.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
