Document Control Librarian

We are seeking a Document Control Librarian to provide on-site support for the Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) at Tyndall AFB, Florida.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

• Organize, file, catalogue, store and monitor distribution of books, periodicals, newspapers, microfiche and electronic documents.
• Provide reference and research assistance to AFCEC customers. 
• Conduct literature searches using a variety of online and hardcopy information resources, including full-text commercial databases and the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC). 
• Provide library circulation and public service functions.
• Perform cataloging on historical and current materials using Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR2) or Resource Description and Access (RDA) rules.  
• Process and prepare materials removed from the TIC collection and coordinate turn-in to Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO). 
• Assist with the acquisition control program for internal procurement to ensure appropriate accountability for AFCEC TIC acquisitions.
• Advise others in the use of TIC equipment and resources.  
• Assist in the maintenance of an integrated library system (ILS).  
• Capture usage statistics needed for the library annual report and submit to the government.
• Perform in/out processing of library patrons to include programing access cards librarian for the previous month
• Maintain electronic resources access for authorized users by adding users to the OpenAthens, or similar, database per TIC license agreements. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  

• Master’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a library or information center.
• Proficiency in online databases for searching scientific literature.
• Ability to conduct computer inquiries of a variety of on-line databases, search and research techniques and capabilities to deliver information in an acceptable format. 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse and multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of library cataloging, interlibrary loan processing, acquisition and circulation management, descriptive cataloging and digital archive maintenance.
• Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance for a Common Access Card (CAC) as well as a Secret clearance are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
