POSITION: Digital Library Technician

DIVISION: WXXI Classical Radio

REPORTS TO: Music Director

CLASSIFICATION: Casual, non-exempt (temporary donor funded project, 300 Hours)- 20 hours per week

Pay Rate: $20/ hour.

DESCRIPTION:

Work with WXXI Classical Music Director on WXXI's library digitization project, physically ripping CDs into digital files to secure the future of this valuable resource.

The Digital Library Technician position is a temporary donor-funded position. This position will have a projected total of 300 work hours.

DUTIES:

• At the direction of WXXI Classical's Music Director, implement the digitizing of the Classical CD collection using the Ripstation CD Ripper in a strategic and organized process, returning CDs to their respective cases & shelf location once ripped.
• Document these digital files, align the data, and verify accuracy with the Music Master Database. Update the Google Doc spreadsheet with the CD ripped in each session, including notes on any errors that may have occurred.
• Update the Music Master Database to indicate the ripping of CDs.
• Randomly quality check the digital file's audio quality and confirm the audio files' identity with the metadata and MM data. Troubleshoot errors and faulty CDs as needed.
