Xavier University seeks applicants to fill the new position of Data Services Librarian. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Public Services, the successful candidate for this full-time position will develop and launch a data literacy program to provide consultative and instructional library services that advance students’ ability to discover, analyze, visualize, and use data effectively. The position will support student and faculty needs for finding, managing, interpreting and incorporating data into their research. Services will include data discovery, curation (publication, visualization, storage, etc.), and data management (citation management, ethical use, digital accessibility, etc.) to assist student and faculty research, scholarship, and data literacy. This position will collaborate with University librarians to integrate data visualization and analysis tools and technologies into library services and create relevant resources to support data in the curriculum, and will serve as the library’s primary liaison to the Center for Research Excellence to support faculty research across five colleges. Candidate should be an energetic self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset in offering innovative and collaborative approaches to identify, promote, and encourage research support through data-related activities.
