JOB PURPOSE: Provides point-of-use instruction at library reference desks, and research and information services to students, faculty and staff.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND TASKS:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Primary job duty is to provide ACC Blackboard Library Services reference & instructional services to ACC students, faculty and staff, including in-person, phone, email and library chat.
Superior customer service skills are essential.
Other duties as assigned include working with other ACC Library Services and ACC Campus faculty and staff, maintaining records and statistical data and – as assigned - collection maintenance, subject bibliography, information literacy support, web or wiki page maintenance, special projects, reports, and other duties as assigned.
Position reports to the ACC Blackboard Library Head Librarian, as part of a larger Library team serving ACC students and faculty.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Expertise with print and electronic information and reference resources in an academic environment.
Demonstrated proficiency using pcs, office productivity software, knowledge of electronic information resources, the Internet and wikis, laptops, iPads, and e-readers.
Participate in critical recordkeeping practices including using reference desk software designed to gather student learning outcome data
Must demonstrate sensitivity to, and knowledge of a diverse student body in an adult learning environment.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing and electronically, in a concise and effective manner.
Ability to maintain established work schedule.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of constituent information.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, collegial workplace relationships.
Ability to work within a fully remote environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
