Position: 2025-2026 School Year - Elementary School Librarian/Media Specialist K-5

Position Summary: Ridgewood Public Schools seeks a Library Media Specialist for Orchard Elementary School.  The successful candidate will be expected to include delivery of instruction in information literacy skills, and the development and coordination of school library media programs and resources. The successful candidate will be expected to use their skills to create a library area that is a vibrant learning center in the school building.

Qualifications: 

• Must hold NJ School Library Media Specialist or Associate School Library Media Specialist Certification
• Demonstrated ability to be a highly capable, energetic, and student-centered instructor.   
• Demonstrated ability to provide instruction in the evaluation, selection, organization, distribution, creation and utilization of school library media.
• Must have ability to use technology to enhance learning and assess students
• Must be able to effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to work collaboratively and have experience maintaining harmonious relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

Start Date: 08/27/25, plus 3 days NTO

Working Conditions: 10-month, full-time, tenure track position, salary as per negotiated contract with benefits
