Part-Time Youth Services Librarian Plainville Public Library Town of Plainville
The Town of Plainville is currently seeking an experienced part-time Youth Services Librarian in the Plainville Public Library. Work schedule is 19 hours per week and includes daytime shifts and at least one evening per week, plus at least one Saturday every four weeks from 9am-4pm, and substitute shifts as needed. Salary is $27.81 per hour. Sick leave is provided consistent with State of Connecticut Regulations, but there are no other benefits associated with this position. This is non-union position.
Talents sought for this position include a passion for teamwork and service to families, children, and young adults. We are seeking someone with an enthusiastic and engaging manner, and the knowledge and experience to jump right into the role of programming, outreach, storytime, and collection development.
Qualifications desired include a master’s degree in Library Studies (MLS) or MLS-pending from an ALA-accredited institution, plus at least one year of programming, outreach, and storytime experience in library Youth Services. Working knowledge of Sierra ILS is favorable.
