The opportunity

The US Commercial Data Librarian Analyst, will be responsible for maintaining and managing the data catalog, metadata, and overseeing data governance policies and procedures for the US Commercial Data Lake. This role will work with IT and business to ensure smooth data harmonization across the organization, providing well maintained metadata records on data assets to ensure proper use and access to data for both advanced analytics and business customers. This position will collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to support data harmonization initiatives and ensure data quality standards are upheld.


 


ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 



  • Data Catalog & Metadata Management

    • Maintain and manage the organization’s data catalog, ensuring all data assets are accurately documented, accessible, and up to date.

    • Ensure the metadata is well-organized, with data assets clearly categorized for easy access and usage by internal teams.

    • Facilitate the onboarding of new data sources into the data catalog tool, ensuring alignment with data governance policies.



  • Data Governance Administration

    • Support the implementation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to maintain data integrity and quality.



  • Data Harmonization & Quality Assurance

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data mapping and documentation, supporting the creation of a comprehensive data dictionary.

    • Support regular data quality checks and audits to identify and address data discrepancies.



  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

    • Work closely with internal teams, including IT, Sales, Marketing, and Analytics, to ensure data cataloging and documentation aligns with business needs.

    • Assist the Director with other data governance tasks, projects, and initiatives as needed, providing administrative and operational support.




Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered. 


 


Education/Certification/Experience:


•    Bachelor’s degree required, preferably focused in business or analytics

•    Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Operations or data documentation related roles.

•    Previous experience with data governance tools, data cataloging is preferred

•    Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sets, or experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare industry is a plus.


 


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

•    Experience with data cataloging tools

•    Ability to manage multiple data assets and projects while ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

•    Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•    Proficient in data management tools and technologies such as SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools.


 


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS


Approximately 10-15% travel throughout the US.


 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 


•    Use a computer (including participating in face to face video calls/meetings camera)

•    Sit or stand for extended periods of time

•    Travel as required, which may include travel by car, train, or plane

•    Occasional bending and/or twisting


 


WORKING ENVIRONMENT


•    May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed on site visits (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
