About the Role: Full-Time Teen Librarian This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week. The starting rate for this Union-eligible position is $29.52 per hour. The schedule includes one weekly evening shift and one Saturday shift per month (September through June). Location: Plainville, Connecticut
Your key responsibilities will involve leveraging your talents in:
Teen Programming & Engagement: Creating and maintaining a diverse, engaging range of programs, events, and workshop experiences specifically for teens.
Collaboration & Communication: Demonstrating outstanding communication and collaboration skills with teens, colleagues, and other library/town departments.
Service & Instruction: Providing professional library research instruction and assistance to all patrons, with a focus on teen needs.
Technology & Promotion: Utilizing computer knowledge and technology instruction skills; preparing engaging marketing and promotional materials pertaining to teens.
Multitasking & Customer Service: Excelling at multitasking and delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic library setting.
Exploring Work-Life Balance: The Possibility of a 4-Day Work Week
Qualifications:
Education: A master’s degree in Library and Information Studies (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution.
Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant library work experience.
