Job Description

The University Library at Nevada State University is seeking applications for the position of Systems Librarian. Reporting directly to the Dean of the Library, the ideal candidate will contribute to a forward-thinking team committed to redefining the role of the university library. The Systems Librarian oversees the implementation, maintenance, support, and enhancement of various library technologies, systems and integrations. This role is pivotal in delivering innovative library services and ensuring access to the Library’s comprehensive online information resources.

Nevada State supports flexible working options as outlined in the university’s Alternative Work Arrangement Policy. Library team members typically telecommute two days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and administers library enterprise systems, including ExLibris’ Alma and Primo VE; OCLC Tipasa and Worldshare; OpenAthens; EBSCO Stacks; and Springshare LibApps.
  • Develops and sustains strong, cooperative partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders to support both library-specific and broader campus technological objectives.
  • Provides liaison services to faculty and students in designated subject areas.
  • Proactively improves knowledge and professional practice through training and continuing education.
  • Produces scholarly works, engages actively in service, and fulfills other Nevada State criteria for promotion and tenure.

Required Qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited Master’s degree or equivalent by the start date.
  • Demonstrable potential to meet the University Library's standards for promotion and tenure.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing support and management for library enterprise systems.
  • Experience planning, managing, and overseeing library technology projects.

Rank, Salary & Benefits:

12-month. Tenure-track. Budgeted salary for this position is $71,342. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits, including 17.50% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
