Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Public Services Librarian, the Supervising Library Associate manages and supervises the Isché Library during evening and weekend hours, providing service to patrons, maintaining appropriate library environment, managing the Circulation desk, and supervising student workers. The Supervising Library Associate performs complex library work at a moderate level of sophistication and responsibility, requiring exercise of judgment and independent thought, but in accordance with established principals. The Supervising Library Associate provides courteous and responsive service to library users, including answering basic reference questions, interpreting library policies for users, and processing both physical materials and digital records. The position also assists with projects such as institutional repository harvests, archival scanning, and the creation of displays and signage. Because this position manages the closing of the Library, the Supervising Library Associate is required to work until the library closes. Typical schedule is 2:30-11pm, Sunday-Thursday.
