POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The Dallas Mavericks are looking for someone to help build and maintain a reputable and dependable photo archive. Work on using keywords and necessary metadata to images to manage our digital asset management system for images made by the photography.

JOB FUNCTION:
  • Ensure images are labeled, organized, stored, and archived appropriately upon editing completion
  • Preparing and uploading old and new photographic content to the asset management system along with captions, usage rights and necessary keywords
  • Ensuring all information on the system is accurately key worded and up to date
  • Work with the photo team to continuously update and improve functionality of the digital asset management system, making it easier for users to search and find the content they need
  • Training select teams to upload their own content and manage their workflow
  • Supporting the team with photography production as required and maintenance of the equipment stored and archive
  • Completes edits, clones, retouches and additional editing adjustments on digital images
  • Support the Dallas Mavericks photography team as needed
  • Captures high-quality images with strong artistic sensibilities to satisfy a diverse array of projects when necessary (photography skills appreciated but not a necessity)
  • Assists preparation for in-studio and on-location shoots
  • Follows all procedures for photography equipment
  • Corrects color of digital photographs from photo shoots and digital art files in order to closely match real-life tones
  • Works closely with Supervisor to ensure required photographic aesthetics are delivered
  • Maintains consistent and organized digital workflow
  • Identifies and informs Supervisor of photography equipment maintenance needs
  • Completes all assignments on time according to direction
  • Maintains current knowledge of design and technology trends
  • Learns new techniques, tools, and technology as required
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workstation and set spaces
  • Adapts to additional duties and tasks
  • Contributes to team effort by fulfilling responsibilities with a positive attitude

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:
 
  • Understanding of photography and photography workflows
  • Good IT skills including practical use of Lightroom, Photo Mechanic, Adobe Photoshop, Excel and other photographic/imaging software
  • High attention to detail and accountability in checking the accuracy of information accompanying photos
  • Process-oriented & methodical way of working


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 
  • Previous experience managing a photo library/digital asset system – including excellent knowledge of key wording systems
  • 1-3 years professional photography experience
  • A solid understanding of production techniques including separation, layering, and color management
  • Willingness to travel within the metroplex and engage in schedule flexibility
  • Advanced level Adobe Photoshop skills
  • Design and Illustration skills are a definite plus
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Bridge
  • Excellent attention to detail
