REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 7 JOB POSTING
We are looking for highly organized candidates with excellent interpersonal skills for the position of Northwestern Regional School District library assistant. Library assistants are responsible for sorting and shelving books according to their categorization, assisting students with access to resources, and repairing library materials. Furthermore, library assistants need to attend to any disruptions or disturbances in the library, requiring exceptional student management skills.
Rate: $20.00 per hour, flexible schedule, no additional benefits provided.
Work Year: 182 days and/or applicable school year.
Helping students find material online through the use of the library website, Follett Destiny, and databases.
Helping students locate books, different genres, etc.
Checking books in and out at the front desk.
Sorting and shelving books according to their categorization.
Maintaining records of books taken out and books brought back.
Covering new book purchases with protective covers and preparing them for circulation.
Organizing the repair of damaged books.
Assisting with library events and displays.
Managing the payment of fines.
Experience with Follett Destiny Software for library reports, circulation, and locating resources.
Assists students with access to project resources.
Assists teachers with access to teacher materials and resources in the supply area.
Settling any disruptions or disturbances in the library.
Managing passes to the library with both Library Trac and Smart Pass.
Basic computer literacy.
Exceptional student management skills.
Outstanding organizational skills.
Attention to detail and good problem-solving ability.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
