Hours are 7.0 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Work year shall be concurrent with the adopted school calendar with an additional five (5) days assigned before and/or after the school year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Seventy-two (72) college quarter credits and/or A.A required and/or completion of the ETS Test.
  • Demonstrates interest in children and education.
  • Knowledge of modern library operations and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System of Classification. 
  • Able to work with students and present a coherent library skills instructional program.
  • Demonstrates ability to work within a team environment. 
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing.
  • Evidence of emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved. 
  • Demonstrates ability to create reports and manipulate data in Skyward (Qmlativ)
  • Computer literate, willing and able to learn new software programs.  
  • Demonstrates ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite and other presentation and reporting software. 
  • Familiar with web page management software
  • Knowledge of a variety of student and office hardware and A.V. equipment. 
  • Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain an instructional material/A.V. center.
  • Assist teachers and students in getting necessary materials for study or research.
  • Effectively manage students in the library environment.
  • Organize, maintain and monitor audio visual materials.
  • Order library and audio visual materials as needed.
  • Process and organize materials in the library.
  • Operate computer software databases. 
  • Prepare and present lessons to groups of students dealing with library skills, technology use and academic intervention.
  • Track materials checked out and return them to the proper area.
  • Organize and train library volunteers.
  • Repair books and materials.
  • Manage the curriculum inventory.
  • Participate in staff development activities.
  • Coordinate with ESD 113 to obtain and return learning materials.
  • Supervise large and small classes.
  • Provide a cheerful library and hall showcases.
  • Assist the principal in maintaining accurate records of student intervention programs.
  • Supports In-School Suspension (PACE) program.
  • Manages school Chromebook distribution/support/return while maintaining accurate records.
  • Assists with state and local testing.
  • Supports school-wide attendance and intervention initiatives.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
