PT Librarian

Duties:



  • Performs circulation desk procedures, such as checking in and checking out materials.

  • Locates Reserve materials for patrons.

  • Checks in deliveries of inter-campus and inter-library loan materials.

  • Call patrons regarding ILL books.

  • Assists patrons with library equipment, including copier, scanner, and printer.

  • Answers directional questions and refers patrons to appropriate library personnel.

  • Communicate library and circulation policies.

  • Shelves library materials according to LC classification standards.

  • Process books and materials.

  • Performs other related work as required.


Licenses and Certifications


American Library Association (ALA) accredited masters in library science (e.g., MLS; MLIS).

Skills/Qualifications:



  • Library or customer service experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of library methods and procedures.

  • Able to operate library equipment and technology.

  • Able to navigate the online Sierra library catalog.

  • Able to comprehend and follow instructions.

  • Able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrates basic computer and phone skills.

  • Demonstrates a proactive and friendly customer service attitude.

Salary Grade: 30.00
