About the Library
The Pima Community College Library empowers our patrons to achieve their academic and life goals, providing research support, instruction, collections, and spaces for intellectual exploration. We offer services and resources online and at five campus libraries.
About the Position
Pima Community College Library seeks an enthusiastic and student-focused librarian for a one-semester provisional position with 90 days of accountability between January 4, 2027 and May 28, 2027. The successful candidate will serve at PCC’s Northwest Campus Library.The position includes responsibilities for providing information literacy instruction, reference services, and research consultations both online and in person, and engaging in collection development.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Design, provide, and assess contextualized information literacy instruction in both online and face to face modalities; Serve as embedded librarian in selected courses utilizing the D2L Brightspace LMS;
- Assist students, faculty, staff, and administrators in accessing relevant, reliable, accurate information; Provide ready reference, reference consultations, demonstrations and workshops, and participate in the Library’s live chat service;
- Produce and update research guides, tutorials, and other resources to promote and support student learning through the use of library materials, tools, and services;
- Assist in developing and maintaining the library collection as a resource for students, staff, faculty, and administrators;
- Engage in outreach and promotional activities to the campus and community;
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students and utilize a collegial style in all forms of communication.
Job Requirements/Qualifications

- Master’s degree from a library and information studies program accredited by the American Library Association.
The selected candidate will:Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed to meet student needs.
Work in multiple modalities, including in-person and online
- Academic library experience
- Experience creating web-based content such as research guides, tutorials, etc.
- Experience with course management software
- Collection development experience

Degrees and courses qualifying for Pima Community College teaching certification must be from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants currently in progress for a degree or additional coursework to meet the minimum qualifications must have the degree conferred and/or coursework completed by December 2026.
A degree from any college outside of the United States (even if the transcript is in English) may need to be evaluated by a foreign transcript evaluation service. Pima Community College requires that applicants use an evaluation agency that is a member of NACES or AACRAO's corporate partners.

Selection Process:
The selection process typically consists of one or two advisory group interview(s), a teaching demonstration, and an administrative interview.
Candidates invited to the interview process will be chosen from those who most closely meet the stated requirements. Meeting these qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
