JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Library Director and Library Manager, the part-time Technology Library Assistant plays a vital role in expanding access to digital literacy, hands-on learning, and creative technology to empower our community to learn new skills, express creativity, and pursue workforce or educational opportunities. The Technology Library Assistant performs library work centered around our LABtana technology hub and makerspace, creating and implementing classes, and offers routine IT support to library staff and patrons. They also perform daily library work which requires the application of clerical and skilled techniques to varied library functions. The Assistant may be in charge of the library during evening hours. The Assistant must demonstrate tact, friendliness, and discretion in helping the library’s users. The Assistant will be assigned shifts and types of duty according to the needs of the department.

Candidate must possess a High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of at least one year of higher education or current enrollment in college or university preferred.
Computer literacy (e.g., familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Apple (IOS) operating systems, the internet, tablets, and software applications, including mobile applications).
Experience in a library or other public service position requiring interaction with the public in occasionally stressful situations.
Experience working with youth and teen patrons is preferred.
