Minimum Qualifications
Masterβs degree in library and/or information science ( MLS , MLIS , MSLS , or MSIS ) from an ALA -accredited institution by the time of appointment. Demonstrated familiarity with the concepts of open and affordable course content, open access, open licensing and copyright, and open educational practices as well as trends in these areas. Awareness of accessibility considerations for websites and digital sources. Strong leadership skills. Evidence of ability to work both independently and collegially on a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Well-developed analytical, organizational, and communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal). Familiarity with information literacy and research skills instruction. Evidence of interest in professional and scholarly activities. Strong commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in an academic library. Experience with OER creation and/or adaptation. Familiarity with institutional repositories, scholarly publishing, and related issues. Experience with providing information literacy instruction at the college level. Experience with providing reference services in an academic library. Experience with remediating materials to conform to accessibility guidelines. Familiarity with Texas legislation related to open education issues.
