Position Information

This part-time position is located at the South Cobb Regional Library. This position works 18 hours per week, including nights and weekends, and 4 hours (1:00 – 5:00 pm) on scheduled Sundays. This position will, among other duties, assist patrons with online resources and checking library materials in and out.

Essential Functions

Circulation/information services including: checking books in and out; registering patrons for library cards; registering patrons for voter registration cards.


Take fines for overdue books.


Assist in keeping daily statistics.


Develops and maintains a working knowledge about the organization and care of library materials, library services and programs.


Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by six or more months of work experience involving public interaction/customer service.


Physical Abilities

Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.

Sensory Requirements

Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors

Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
