Programming
Assists the Programming Librarian with coordinating library programs for children, teens, and adults.
Assists with creating and distributing program publicity, including content for the quarterly program guide, flyers, and social media.
Assists with ensuring program publicity follows Union County brand standards.
Provides support for the library’s summer reading program and other system-wide programming initiatives.
Provides backup and support for programs hosted by the library, including assisting staff, presenters, and attendees.
Assists with maintaining positive relationships with outside presenters and community partners.
Performs other programming-related duties as assigned.
Special Requirements:
This position may be subject to a fingerprint background check. Per NC General Statute 153A-94.2(b), applicants for a position of employment required to work with children in any capacity will be required to electronically submit fingerprints to the NC State Bureau of Investigation for a state and national criminal history record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including computers, printers, telephones, pagers, cash registers, book chargers, copiers, answering machines, fax machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Employees assigned to homebound must be physically able to drive a motor vehicle.
